Oh. Small note on the controversy sweeping the day in a bunch of places I hang out at.

FFVII: Advent Children is actually a damn good idea. Direct to DVD, based on an insanely sickly popular franchise, and probably going to be well marketed. I'm sure Square will continue to roll in money and refine the technology.

Hell, if they do well enough, I could see FF movies becoming a very profitable side buisness for them.

Oh. And all those proclaiming the horrors and cataclysms of this and FFX-2: Please do get over it. :D They're games, this is a buisness, and buisnesses will experiment if they think it'll make them metric fuckloads of money. Don't like it? Don't buy it! We're all good!

Oh. And KH: Chain of Memories for the GBA looks like it will be more graphically impressive than I thought the GBA could do. I may just have to get it.

I think that Advent's Children is a great idea, barring one thing...

...Cloud's hair. It just... bugs me. ^^; I don't see realistic hair crossing with spikey anime hair as something that works very well. Cloud's hair looks like a soild mass in the games, but much less so in the shots we've seen so far. ^^

But everything else... its definately looking to be a good year for Square next year.

They toned down some of the spikeyness of Cloud's hair in Advent Children to make it more realistic. *drools on his hair, which is uber-perdy*

That was my first thought, too. His hair looks really strange like that. >_> They should've found a way to translate it better into "real-life" hair.

And is it a movie? I wasn't sure whether it was that or a sequel to FF7...

I think that it's healthy for a company to be able to produce a game like it, because a massive amount of cash has been spent on a game that essentially laughs at itself. There is no way for this game to truly take itself seriously, there's no way the programmers could have taken it seriously.

Being able to laugh at yourself is a good thing.

At least one of the translators I looked at seemed to think it was a movie. We'll see. If it's a game, they certainly amped things up for that, too.
