So I just found out, by reading fragments of other people's journals, that a bunch of my friends were in a major car accident on Saturday or Sunday, and one is very seriously injured.

Nobody told me. Nobody even thought to call my office.

The accident happened less than a quarter mile from me. And I didn't know.

The bottom of my stomach is kinda gone, right now.

Okay people, back the fuck off of Matt!! I am sorry but I can see why he feels a bit down! When everyone else seems to know something about people you care about it does seem like you are the odd one out. I really am sorry that no one got in touch with you Matt! I think that we all rely on livejounal too much and think that if we post it everyone will know. I don't think this is you being too into yourself, its just you saying PLEASE try to make sure more people know about something like this. I will try my best to make sure you do know the next time something like this happens.

I wasn't meaning it as a criticism that Matt was horribly narcissistic or anything... it was mostly just that I couldn't imagine criticizing anyone for not telling someone... and that it really shouldn't be taken as some personal slight against Matt so much as...

It was mostly in the phrasing of your original post - you seemed offended that no one had called you. Which just struck me as an odd thing to be offended by - as though the fact that you had just talked to them and yet nobody called you was something that upset you.

If it was, as it appears from more recent replies, just you being upset that you didn't know, that's another thing entirely - it just didn't seem phrased that way initially. =)

Shhh. *hugs* It's okay. :D I think I did kinda deserve that, actually.

And I do appreciate the offers for more knowledge next time...but is it okay if I just hope there isn't a next time?

Though I think the reason everyone figured LJ would work is that really, when was the last time you saw me without a computer? That I went totally net-free this weekend is rather odd for me, and I can see why others wouldn't think about it.
