Well, okay, I'm kinda glad I'm not on fire. But at least I'd be /warm/ then!
The apartment's heat didn't really do much last night, so I ended up pulling out all 6 of my blankets. Got up (reluctantly), got cleaned up, and faced the day. To my pleasure, we got snowed on, which was great. Not very much, but we did. Scraped the car with a smile, and tried not to get blown all over the landscape by the 50mph(!) gusts we're still having.
As far as I know, we lost power very early in the actual storm, then got it back and kept it.
Driving into work was interesting. All the telephone poles and a lot of the trees have a definite list, and I could see occasional broken windows, etx. Overholt's grounds had tree branches all over, and I assume that's true of a lot of places.
Creepily enough, I still managed to get my walking in before the tornado hit.
Apparently a bunch of stuff I usually drive past on my way out to Columbus got seriously nailed. Reports vary, but I keep hearing that Wooster Motor Ways, which is right on 250/30, either took severe damage or is 'just gone.'
Power's still out a lot of places. It should be an interesting day.

Date: 2003-11-13 10:24 am (UTC)I'm still sorry about your coat, but if you want to f*ck me and my happiness (and you are allowed to say fuck, dear. I know the words), you'll need to please make an appointment and bring a bottle of something.

Date: 2003-11-13 10:28 am (UTC)It's amazing. The roof of one of the plants is gone, another caved in, and a third really looks like someone used a pair of tin snips and just sliced it and peeled the edges up into ramps.

Date: 2003-11-13 10:28 am (UTC)An appointment _and_ a bottle?? Forget that. I'm going to Washington. :)

Date: 2003-11-13 10:30 am (UTC)Fine. No appointment, just show up with the bottle. And if you wear something slinky, I'll even say don't worry about the bottle.

Date: 2003-11-13 10:50 am (UTC)I'm going to ask Karl about the stupid thing if I see him today. I'm hoping it'll turn up in the next few days.
Slinky happens in summertime, when there's not white shite everywhere.

Date: 2003-11-13 10:52 am (UTC)Yes, ask Karl. Then wrap yourself up in blankets, then come over with slinky. Or wear a sweater and take the sweater off to expose the hidden slink, like a beautiful flower hidden beneath a big pile of mulch.

Date: 2003-11-13 12:12 pm (UTC)This is part of the pre-show stuff at a movie theatre in this area - the AMC 25 in Manhattan.
Screen goes black, and green letters show up (Each line is a new screen):
PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE.
IF YOUR PHONE RINGS DURING THE MOVIE, WE WILL STOP THE MOVIE.
THE LIGHTS WILL COME UP, AND AN ATTENDANT WILL POINT YOU OUT.
OTHER ATTENDANTS WILL PASS OUT STALE POPCORN AND CANDY FROM THE FLOOR TO THE REST OF THE THEATRE.
THEN THEY WILL PELT YOU WITH IT.
IF YOU'RE REALLY LUCKY, THAT BIG GUY RIGHT BEHIND YOU WILL JUST BEND YOU OVER AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR NOSE.
AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT.
A FRIENDLY REMINDER FROM AMC THEATRES.
