bzarcher: A Sylveon from Pokemon floating in the air, wearing a pair of wingtip glasses (Feather)

Well, okay, I'm kinda glad I'm not on fire. But at least I'd be /warm/ then!

The apartment's heat didn't really do much last night, so I ended up pulling out all 6 of my blankets. Got up (reluctantly), got cleaned up, and faced the day. To my pleasure, we got snowed on, which was great. Not very much, but we did. Scraped the car with a smile, and tried not to get blown all over the landscape by the 50mph(!) gusts we're still having.

As far as I know, we lost power very early in the actual storm, then got it back and kept it.

Driving into work was interesting. All the telephone poles and a lot of the trees have a definite list, and I could see occasional broken windows, etx. Overholt's grounds had tree branches all over, and I assume that's true of a lot of places.

Creepily enough, I still managed to get my walking in before the tornado hit.

Apparently a bunch of stuff I usually drive past on my way out to Columbus got seriously nailed. Reports vary, but I keep hearing that Wooster Motor Ways, which is right on 250/30, either took severe damage or is 'just gone.'

Power's still out a lot of places. It should be an interesting day.

So weird. Here in Kent, we got a little rain. And a little wind. But nothing worth mentioning.

Not too surprising. I think this storm was a very long line, but very concentrated in the areas of real intensity.

I dunno. Light dusting of snow, cold air, and blustery winds here in Pittsburgh this morning as well.

I think you're getting what's left after we got the tornadoes and hail.

We got 60 mph steady winds here in Milwaukee. 6000 residents without power.

And it's snowing, too.

Heavy winds, but no rain or snow here in the Indy Metro area. About 600 people were still without power when I left for work this morning.

Oh, your area made the morning news here - they mentioned the tornado that struck the Rubbermaid plant.

F*ck you and your happiness about snow. Snow is cold. Snow and wind is colder. I still don't have my coat back. :P

*Kiss* Then get some hot cocoa and stay safe, sweetie. I'm thinking of you.

Snow is beautiful. Snow is pure. Cold winds sweep away the mud and debris and crap, and leave only fresh, clean, clear space.

I'm still sorry about your coat, but if you want to f*ck me and my happiness (and you are allowed to say fuck, dear. I know the words), you'll need to please make an appointment and bring a bottle of something.

Yay! The wrath of god gets us news coverage! (Did they put the stupidest people possible on? They seem to try that whenever they come here.)

It's amazing. The roof of one of the plants is gone, another caved in, and a third really looks like someone used a pair of tin snips and just sliced it and peeled the edges up into ramps.

Don't be sorry, be useful and help me find it. ;)
An appointment _and_ a bottle?? Forget that. I'm going to Washington. :)

Well, I've tried to help! Wench.

Fine. No appointment, just show up with the bottle. And if you wear something slinky, I'll even say don't worry about the bottle.

Hey, how'd you know I work at a ren faire?? *smirk*

I'm going to ask Karl about the stupid thing if I see him today. I'm hoping it'll turn up in the next few days.

Slinky happens in summertime, when there's not white shite everywhere.

*smirks* Didn't we already establish I know (nearly) everything?

Yes, ask Karl. Then wrap yourself up in blankets, then come over with slinky. Or wear a sweater and take the sweater off to expose the hidden slink, like a beautiful flower hidden beneath a big pile of mulch.

It's not really tornado season there, is it?

Infotainment you get, then!!!

This is part of the pre-show stuff at a movie theatre in this area - the AMC 25 in Manhattan.

Screen goes black, and green letters show up (Each line is a new screen):

PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE.

IF YOUR PHONE RINGS DURING THE MOVIE, WE WILL STOP THE MOVIE.

THE LIGHTS WILL COME UP, AND AN ATTENDANT WILL POINT YOU OUT.

OTHER ATTENDANTS WILL PASS OUT STALE POPCORN AND CANDY FROM THE FLOOR TO THE REST OF THE THEATRE.

THEN THEY WILL PELT YOU WITH IT.

IF YOU'RE REALLY LUCKY, THAT BIG GUY RIGHT BEHIND YOU WILL JUST BEND YOU OVER AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR NOSE.

AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER FROM AMC THEATRES.

My coat. *smugness*

By the way, has it occurred to you that we should be doing something better with our time???

Hey, nobody's calling my office and I ran my appointments.

Besides, I've been helping to find your coat, but if I don't possess something, I can't give it. And I did offer to help! And have been! So there. *Counter-smug*

No, no one was interviewed. It was only video with a voiceover by our station's morning anchorman. Maybe 30 seconds in total.

From: [identity profile] bzarcher.livejournal.com
Good and bad, that. A lot of people who apparently /were/ interviewed were some of the...ah....dumber crowd.
