Once again, it seems to be morning.
Dec. 22nd, 2003 11:01 amWorking on a few projects here and there to keep me busy, including a favor for the director of the physical plant. (Rebuilding his computer. Better. Stronger. And no longer on WinME.)
Had a weird dream. Only thing I clearly remember was Lisa speaking to me in Tolkien elvish. I think I may have hit a Tolkien saturation point if it's seeping into my dreams that much.
Past that, it's warmed up some, yes, but I look forward to the return of true Winter tomorrow and the rest of the week.
Also, I learned this weekend that my leg is really most comfortable at a fast walk-near running speed, but starts complaining and aching if I walk slowly to keep up with most people. Odd.

Date: 2003-12-22 10:34 am (UTC)For example, I got my new computer in 2001 and it came with WinME. I didn't know much about it, and I figured it was just some kind of marvelous new operating system. It was fairly solid for a couple of months, but after that, Spool32 would crash after loading up and force me to reboot. Then Windows Media would freeze the entire computer if I decided to minimize it or even go to the toolbar. I eventually got XP Pro on my system and holy shit did that make a difference. I don't think it's ever crashed on me, either.

Date: 2003-12-22 11:06 am (UTC)I got winME once, because I needed DVD support that win98 1st edition wouldn't do, and I couldn't get a copy of 98 SE.
I put XP pro on as fast as I could.
