OOof. Okay. Weights were good for me in terms of health, but 30 minutes while sick (even if recovering) is a totally different effort than when healthy. OTOH, it's a good sweat, and helps push the crap out of the system.

That said: time for an odd request. Anyone know a good place I could get some form of grip tape, like skate/snowboarders use for extra traction? The bare metal crossbars on the weights can be a little slippish after a lot of lifting, and I think this would help.

Well...

Dunno if it's the same thing, but my brother uses grip tape on the end of his hockey stick to give him better grip on it. It's like a coarse sort of fabric-tape, and it sounds similar to what you're looking for.

I think he found it at the local sporting goods place. Since you're in Ohio, hockey isn't unheard of, so I imagine it'll be easy enough to find. :D

Hmm. That makes good sense. We'll see what I can do. :D I'll call up to the sporting good store later.

There's also standard-issue lifting gloves. Leather palms, crocheted backs to allow sweat to escape without fouling the bars.

Hmm. I'd mainly wonder if what I'm doing is high-impact enough for that? Plus, I'm betting they'd be more expensive than tape. But, maybe.
