I need these.

Then I'll need the gloves.

And the hat.

And the glasses.

And the cravat.

And the coat + Waistcoat.

Black slacks can be had anywhere.

And I'll need a nice cross to use as a toothpick.

Yes, Steve, I'm gonna seriously look at an Alucard cosplay.

Those look suspiciously like Dante's Ebony and Ivory from Devil May Cry . . .

Actually, the Hellsing stuff pre-dates.

Plus, I'm betting Ebony and Ivory weren't made out of melted down silver crosses from cathedrals, or blessed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. ;D

I thought of the two pillars on any High Priestess Tarot card.

I forget the exact symbology, but it puts a really interesting spin on Alucard's meaning in the series.

Steve may be out buying manga as we speak.

He'll only find the first volume. Volume 2 doesn't come out until next week. I checked Amazon.

Still, he'll have plenty to work on...

How is the box?

What's up with the $49 shipping?

A lot of cons are banning realistic weapons ... is this worth it?

This is an item that's being manufactured only in Japan and Hong Kong, and so far the only sellers I've seen are in HK.

These would probably get past the ban because of how ridiculously oversized they are.

I'm not sure they're worth it yet, but I'm kinda thinking about it. We'll see.

Okay, I missed the part about their being in Asia; I withdraw the question re: shipping. :)

12.8 in (from 32 cm) doesn't seem that huge to me, but re: realism, it would probably get dinged at Katsucon ("anything that looks like a weapon"), but maybe not Tekkoshocon. (I can't tell if the orange safety tip is supposed to come with the replica gun or if they give you one, but maybe [livejournal.com profile] bredmold or [livejournal.com profile] spacemangroove will enlighten me.)

Heh. :D

Well, when you consider that the average pistol is only about 6-8 inches long, it does make a difference. (Plus, no gun commonly seen will have a bullpup configuration on a pistol, because you'd have a much higher chance of breaking your wrist when you shot.)

If it didn't have a safety tip, one could probably be made from plastic, though I dunno.

Even if they couldn't be worn a lot, they'd still be beautiful pieces. :D

Eh. The facts you site are probably not things the average person knows about guns, so it might not make a difference.

I concede that they are quite nifty. Whether the niftiness factor is sufficient is your call. ;)

Well, given the fact that my bank account has all of $5 until payday (this Wed.), I'm not exactly in the place where it's practical. :D And bills have to get taken care of first, period.end :D

"Not sure they're worth it"? Duuuude! It's HELLSING! :)

It would still suck if they didn't get allowed at cons. I can't imagine Alucard taking out a wallet and showing people photos of his guns as if they were baby pictures. :P

It's not that they're not worth it. :D It's that they'd be about 1/5 of my monthy income right now! :D

But yeah, if I got them, I'd so want to be able to use them at cons in a costume. Or at least at Halloween.

While I might have the breasts for Victoria... No. Just... no. 6.6 Ah well. Doubt we'd be at any similar con anyway other than Marcon.

I also try not to insult people by asking them to be Victoria. :D
