bzarcherWow. That was an unexpected ego boost.
We're updating stuff for faculty today, because we're moving them over to a new, better, novell server. (Netware 6.5 instead of 5.1.) While doing so, I had a conversation with one of my early academic advisors in the history department. (Gedalecia.) He asked what I'd been up to, and eventually I mentioned my job search.
He actually got /angry/ that the college isn't trying to hold onto me. He said, and I quote, "You've done more in that position than anyone in the past eight years! It's ridiculous that they're not trying to hire you on!"
That felt really, really, really good.
He also told me in no uncertain terms that he wanted added to my references and that he'd be happy to write letters of reccomendation to corporate or academic employers, or if I decide to go back to grad school after I've gotten some 'real world' under my belt.
Wow.
