First, I want to say happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] sillyfox and [livejournal.com profile] ed_dirt

Next, I'd like to mention that my parents took us out for dinner at Aladdin's, which was nice, and had planned for a movie, but we were all kinda beat, so we just went lawnmower shopping and bought some ice cream to bring home. (Dad has apparently decided that he's sick of paying for gas for the lawnmower, so he wants a battery cell powered mower. They exist, but are hard to find. There is one that is only availible direct from the manufacturer that I think he is leaning towards, but we're trying to find any from other brands in Columbus before he buys one with only being able to see literature and a DVD.)

APT brought my entire office gourmet cookies to celebrate my first full week at Sterling. I don't mean they brought a basket or a small box. They had a messenger deliver a box like you usually get a few hundred donuts in for a buisness function, filled to the brim with a very wide assortment of Cheryl & Co. gourmet cookies. Needless to say, all 10 people in my office were very, very, very happy. And I ended up giving a lot of the other contractors in there cards for my APT handler, because they apparently beat the hell out of RHI or TekSys for contact and such. (They were floored that I got taken out to lunch the other day, too. I sense that I managed to find a very, very, very good company to work be a contractor for.)

Finally, I should mention that I somehow forgot that today was Thursday. I think I spent 3/4 of today thinking it was Wednesday. That's not so good.

I know Craftsman makes at least two types of electric mower - frankly, I'd not buy any significant piece of hardware from HD or Lowe's, if that's where yer shopping.

Also, I'd mention electric mowers just suck ass compared to a hardcore gas motor. They have less torque, are much heavier and lack the long term use a gas motor can provide.

We may go look. The fuel-cell ones are supposed to have at least better torque than the plug in by a cord types, or so my dad insists.

I think his main thing is the reduced gas cost, and lower maintinence costs over time. *shrug* We'll see.

Cookies? Lucky!

Yesterday I also made the mistake of thinking it was Wednesday. Strange, that. Bad when you have magazine deadlines that are already past due. Worse when you promise to have articles submitted by Friday.

Very lucky. And tasty.

I can definently see the magazine thing getting to be a pretty serious problem.
