Sep. 23rd, 2004 10:33 pmSo, it was not a fun day at work, but I do still have my job and I can't say more for now.
In an effort to de-stress, I drove up to Mansfield to meet John for dinner, give him part of the cash we agreed on for his Battletech collection, and swap some stories. A very nice time and I was pleasantly surprised by some of it, horrified by some of the tales of the state of the IT department, and when he mentioned they would be hiring soon, I have to admit I considered it for about 3 seconds before dismissing it. I have a somewhat saner and less frustrating career path down here.
Plus, it's a world without dogs. /Random Ellis reference.
The boxes were transferred, and after driving home I was able to finally open them and get a good look at what we'd paid for.
To be blunt?
Praise to the Machine God.
We're paying a total of $325 for the collection, of which Steve and I have both put in about $100 each, and more is coming from a few other sources to finish it off.
The lead alone in this collection is worth $1000. At least.
