Well, it was probably a move against my better judgement, but I've come into work. Of course, I forgot my badge, so I'll need to go home for lunch to get it, but it's a start.

My throat's still very sore and my voice is hoarse, but I feel less drained and the dizzy spells have stopped. We'll call it a partial victory.

In other news, I found something I suspect that [livejournal.com profile] gigerlicious and [livejournal.com profile] thegreath will find interesting:

He-Man redesigns and concept art.

Not sure I agree with how they did Skeletor, but the rest isn't bad at all.

Cruel fag indeed!

I can appreciate the deranged take on a childhood classic, though I disagree that this a 'modern' or 'modernist' feel like the artist proclaims they are.

Between Evil-Lyn and Clawful, I suspect this is a guy who lives orgasm to orgasm, with little joy inbetween.

It's at least a different direction. A bit of a 180 from where Four Horsemen took it.

The link that's part of the art also goes to some other sketches - the way he did Orko was pretty slick.

Evil-Lyn...ywah. The Lich Loving just ain't worth it.

My officemate and I agree on the Skeletor. We think that he had a long robe in the show for a reason. Was Cringer/Battlecat in there? Not that it would matter, since Spirit/Swiftwind was much cooler. I'd suggest this guy do She-Ra now, but I feel like that would just degenerate into porn.

Sorry about the sore throat. Try a tablespoon of honey if you can. Even if it doesn't work, it's totally delicious.

::hugs::

I think the guy had Battlecat redesigns on his personal website (linked off the board, I believe.)

Some chicken soup helped - may try the honey if it keeps bothering me. I don't like the stuff by itself that much, but every little bit helps...

Awh, nostalgia for when I loved He-Man and She-Ra kicking in now. :)

Have meehs on Skeletor, Clawful and Evil-Lyn. Skeletor... would do better in my mind if he wasn't trying to be a slinky gay. The personality/actions doesn't fit that type at all. Clawful seems a liiittle overdone, and Evil-Lyn... Jesus, do I even have to mention? :p

Oh, come now, who doesn't secretly want to be raped to pieces and then sewn together!

Oh, wait.

I think this guy was reacting to the fact that in the original show, Evil-Lyn really was pretty much a non-entity (unlike the comics) and that in the newer cartoon, they spent too much time making her almost an anti-hero. But yeah, just a little overboard, perhaps...

Overall, I'm getting a vibe of some good concept, and the artist trying too damned [bleep] hard to be 'cool'. While the Flaming Evil approach of Skeletor is sorta neat, he took a weird approach to it. C'mon, that really doesn't fit the character. :p

Evil-Lynn, I don't like a'tall. Lich approach is good, but the background and costume (or lack thereoff), is one of those trying-to-hard moments. >_<

Mixed bag. :p
