According to CNN, the Pope has been given the last rites, possibly as a precusor to extreme medical treatment.

I don't agree with a lot of his stances, but he had his convictions, and he has held to them fiercely. We'll see what happens, but it will be a very different world tomorrow if he passes away today.

He was back in the hospital due to fever caused by a UTI. The BBC and AP are both reporting that he had a heart attack this morning.

A vauge shame there - a Pope should have the luxury of dying in his own bed.

The real shame is that he didn't die on Easter. Not only would he have been put on the fast track to Sainthood, I couldn't think of anything more holy than water blessed by a dying pope on Easter Sunday.
