Jun. 16th, 2005 12:29 amYou may now purchase... your own personal sakabatou.*
*Liklihood of weapon being a masterwork by Muramase or actually helping you perform Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu moves not guaranteed by manufacturer. Tsubas will not have 'B.M.F.' embossed into them. No, not even the kana for 'B.M.F.' How would that even work, you little pervert. Do not eat iPod sakabatou.

Date: 2005-06-16 10:24 am (UTC)Actually, one of the things about the sakabato was that it made everything harder to perform, including Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu; since it's based on battou-jutsu, and the friction between the blunt end and the sheath causes the drawing of the blade to slow just the tiniest bit--cf. Kurogasa arc. Of course, since all HMR battou-jutsu are two-part attacks (except for the Hiryu Sen...well, as far as I can tell) the second part tends to work out regardless of the blade. Oh, and I dunno if the "Muramase" line is a reference to something else, but the sakabato in RK was (were) forged by a guy named Arai Shakku and someone shoot me now.
On a related note, I did once see a picture of a mugenjin (the sawblade sword Shishio wielded) that someone forged. I'll have to see if I can dig up that pic.
