That is an extremely adorable strip, even though I essentially have no idea what she was talking about since I don't do WC much less computer games in general... I enjoyed the 13th's strip "Nerd Rope"...
*crunch crunch* "I'm the Matrix! These are babies!"
Oh - I may be in Wooster on the 6th for the Dr. Stuart memorial. I have to work the next day (boooo) but would you like to try to catch me for a bit before we have to go home?
Ahh!!!!!! I knew I should have tried harder to stay for an extra week. :((((((((((((((((((((((((( I'm going back to MI tomorrow :((((( Otherwise, um hell yes. Stupid evil Michigan. Eeeevil hssss. I will actually visit you at some point... there is a fairly good chance, I think, of either the boy or I having a vehical when the school year starts, and really Dublin isn't THAT far away. Grar!!
The room in that movie is called the Rookery. However, it will always and forever be the Leeroy Room to me, and I get a small chuckle every time I go there. The probability of someone making a Leeroy joke while in that room is close to 1.
I'm in the odd situation of having been introduced to the game by my wife in the first place. But anyway, I know EXACTLY WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT! Every god damn word of that impenetrable babble made perfect sense to me. My only question is... which boss? There are four in WC.
Haha. Well, 'breaking sheep' is a wow-specific thing, but I'm sure there are plenty of analogs in other games. There's a mage spell called Polymorph that turns a mob into a sheep for (in my case) 50 seconds. The mob turns back to normal if anyone hits it. A great source of irritation for mages is when people hurt our sheep.
As to the Horde-specific stuff - WC is Wailing Caverns. It is, mostly, a Horde-only instance. There's nothing preventing Alliance groups from going there, but they don't, generally speaking, have a lot of good reasons to go there (as opposed to Ragefire Chasm, the entrance to which is deep inside the Horde's capital city).
Shammy is jargon for Shaman, which is a Horde-only class. Shamans are weird. They are a caster class, but can carry shields, and have decent melee power. They actually have a very nice mix of buff abilities, offensive and defensive magic, as well as the fact that they are more durable than any other Horde-side caster (except a druid in bear form).
Hm. I'm demonstrating what a horrible geek I am with this.
