Gaunts - side
Dec. 24th, 2005 12:08 amThe first 2 gaunts, mostly done as A) a paint test and B) an assembly test.
I thought about going with spinelaunchers or the Devourer for the shooty gaunt squad, but I wasn't sure if those were good for the points, so I figured the "stock" option was a good way to go.

Date: 2005-12-24 05:23 am (UTC)You get an extra round of shooting. And twice as many shots per round.
The only drawback is against marines, where you need 6s to wound, instead of 4s. Even rerolling failed wounds, the chance to wound still doesn't catch up. However, you're dumping twice as much firepower, with a full extra round of shooting. And if you run any less, ANY LESS than 16 gaunts. I will slap you.

I estimate 3-5 hours of touch-up and finish before it's tabletop ready. It will be bad, bad news once that's done.

Date: 2005-12-24 03:19 pm (UTC)Some other pointers. Toxin Sacs on hormagaunts are worth their weight in gold.
Extended Carapace on Genestealers. Oh yes.
Carnifex with no ranged weaponry. Bad.
If you have any other stuff you have questions with well..you know where to find me.
