Looks like they're starting from scratch and using the manga versions of the plotline. Very, very tasty.

You know, I loved the old series, but I'm excited for this one. What I don't like is the animation style on this. It looks shoddy and overly cartoony compared to the previous series, which is a step in the wrong direction.

Perhaps, but I think what they're trying to do is capture the feel of the manga, which is -very- much like this.

I recognise the style from the manga, sure. I just think the series would be better served with a more realistic or darker look.

I'm sad that they're not using the old music, or music by the guy who did the old series. But everything else looks AWESOME.

Looks nifty. I'm not big into the whole horror genre, but I really liked the first Hellsing series. How different is the plotline?

Oh, god.

It's hard to do this without spoiling it.

Remember how in Episode 6 or so of the first Hellsing series it seemed like the plot took a sharp left? That's because they didn't want to follow the plot Hirano was writing.

I'd suggest getting the Manga - I think it's really, really good, and you can read through to current (only 7 volumes out right now in English) quickly.
