Because I'm on my way to being an Aging Hippie Liberal Douche, I write my Congressman and my Senators about issues that concern me. Not daily, or anything like that, but if I see something that worries me, or that I really support, coming to open debate or vote, I send a note to them, usually electronically, sometimes written.

I did so on the Net Neutrality and the fact that ICANN is going into something of a limbo space soon, and how I felt that Net Neutrality is something that needs protected.

I got a response back from my Congressman today. It was probably 3/4 form letter (they usually are), but it had a few comments in there that said someone (if not him) read the letter and replied to it directly, not just automatically.

I get a letter like that every time I write to him, and they usually include what he plans to do or how he feels on the issue, with his reasons, so that even if I disagree with him, I know WHY he's going to vote a certain way.

Over the past 2 years I've been writing to these three legislators, I've gotten back 8 or 9 letters from my Congressman. But I've never recieved a single one from my Senators.

I'm actually considering voting for my Congressman this next election, even though I'm not the greatest fan of his political association.

I will not be voting for either of my incumbent Senators.

Hell, it isn't really work. More of aggressive attempts at kibbitzing.

I once received a reply from DeWine's office where the envelope was addressed to me, and the contents were meant for someone else.

I'm not surprised. I mean, how long has he been a Senator? 18 years? Maybe 20?

The man's confident he can't be unelected, and he could be right.

Don't forget he was the Lieutenant Gov. before he went to the Federal level. But you are right, his arrogance seems to be well founded. Remember when john Glen was in office? Back when Dems had a good chance in Ohio... *sigh* Having a space man in office was so cool.

Democrats in Ohio need space rockets. It is obviously the campaign platform to build on.
