Hehe... I know how you feel, I bought mine more or less by accident. The bid offer freaked me out. I was sitting there talking aobut thousands of dollars I don't have as if it was nothing. LOL
You have the closing money saved up, right? We had 2 grand of ours paid for by the seller in our bid offer, and we still had to cough up another $1500 on top of that.
*nods* I got to break up my $1500 too, I paid my house insurance directly instead of at closing, since I'd gone and arranged all that earlier, but nearly ended up paying it again by accident becuase they didn't know that it was paid. The communication in my closing was creepy.
Once you hit closing, that part is easy. LOL Sign your name 8 million times, hand over money, and get your keys. :)
You should wait until the bid is accepted and the financing is finalized in my opinion, but you can do it early if you want to. But you'll need all sorts of information, we gave htem our house inspectino report and they took it all off there. We wouldn't have known any of the answers without that report.
Did you get the clause that you can opt out if inspection doesnt go well?
Do you guys have The Home Team there? I don't know if they are local or a chain, but they were very good, they went over every litttle detail. I hear it's better to be there when they go through, I have heard horror stories about people who just had it done and then had fires or something else go wrong the first week that should have turned up on inspection. So I went to mine, and watched them poke it all. And they explained to us everything that needed done for the things they did find. :)
And I'll finally have another first time home owner to chat with! WOOT! I'm only two months in myself. :)
