That's odd.

I can reach LJ just fine. I can reach Google fine.

I cannot reach Eyrie, Forumopolis, Vox, or Blogger.

Tracerts seem to stop with Roadrunner - anyone else in Columbus having similar problems?

We're on woh.roadrunner.com, but we're having issues with some websites and not others. It's really getting annoying. We weren't sure if it was our router or what. Seeing you're having a similar issue, perhaps a major server is down at roadrunner or something.

Yeah, I think you're right at this point. All my tracerts stop at son0-1-1.ncntoh1-rtr0.neo.rr.com. I'll bet that's a fairly important router, and something after it is missing.

By contrast, a trace to livejournal leaves that router and jumps to Level3 without a problem.

I'll bet that Sprint or AT&T changed something in their backbone DNS tables, and roadrunner isn't updated yet. Something like that happened to Sterling, too, earlier this year.

Yeah, there was an odd slowdown earlier for me, as well, and I'm connecting via Time-Warner cable Internet which is, of course, RoadRunner.

Bet you're in the same pitch.

I could reach Eyrie all right when I tried before dinner. Then again, I'm in Chambersburg, not Columbus.

Have you got Roadrunner or Time Warner as your service provider?

No to both. We recently switched from Comcast cable to Embarq DSL (as part of a package deal which also involved switching our TV from Comcast cable to the Dish Network, much to the delight of my kindly gray-haired mother who now gets to DVR her favorite shows).

Yeah, looks like the problem was somewhere between Time-Warner/Roadrunner's backbone and the rest of the internet.

This seems like a clear case of someone using the internet like a dump truck when it should be considered a series of tubes.

No, I have nothing helpful to add.
