The MG Char's Z'gok and MG Gouf Custom I ordered from HLJ's clearance sale arrived!
I took one look at the Gouf Custom box and realized that I needed to start a little slower, so I've been working on the Z'gok since we cleaned up from dinner.
For the most part, I'm very pleased with my progress! Three hours, and I have the upper torso/head, propulsion tanks, and arms completed! And the intake louvers on the chest are a pain in the ass, by the way.
For thsi guy, I'm planning on assembly + decals, nothing too fancy.
Because of all the injection points on the Gouf sprues, I'm probably going to be doing some sanding and painting in addition to assembly and decals, which is why he's going second. (Plus, all those tiny power cable rings. Oye! I'm so glad it looks like they found a better way to do those on the new Zaku 2.0 model. Which is something else I may get in the future...)
All in all, though, I forgot how fun it was to build these!
I also got an odd slip of paper in the Z'gok box, covered on both sides with Japanese and a telephone number. It's not a warning label, I don't think, and it's not related to the instructions, but I can't read it well enough to figure out what it is. I may scan it to flickr and see if anyone can figure it out later.

We'll see - certainly I'm not giving up on it yet.
