So, I'm working on an Alton Brown recipe from I'm just here for the FOOD that's basically this with a marinade. We're going to eat it tomorrow, and I was mixing the marinade tonight.

I'd just finished mincing and chopping in a tablespoon of serranos when Alex walked in and we started talking.

And I wiped my hand over my brow and eyes.

A very hot, soapy shower and 2 saline eyewashes later, I look like I could have been tonight's guest star on COPS.

Kids? Don't do that.

Uh, yeah. I did that once when cooking Ethiopian food -- had berbere all over my hands, went to go pee, and then...

I've started wearing those secondskin latex gloves while cutting peppers - works a wonder! Peel them off afterwards, and boom, ready to go on to the next thing.

*nods* Sometimes all it takes is a little distraction.

Face wsn't so bad, but oh my god. Until I'd finished the 2nd eyewash I simply could not open my eyes - I tried to and they kept closing again by reflex.
