Mike Peca is now a Blue Jacket.
While I'm a little sad that Toronto didn't try to re-sign him, I'm excited about getting to see him play here. If he's really recovered from the broken leg, he's got massive amounts of upside and experience that ought to help out a lot of our younger players. I loved him in the Blue and the White for the part of last season he played, and his defensive skills were shown off beautifully in Edmonton's lunge for the Cup in '06.
I'm still planning on getting my older 3rd Jersey turned into a Tollefson jersey, but if he plays well, I might just have to get a Peca jersey, too. :D

Date: 2007-08-23 03:08 am (UTC)Tell you what. That someone who really knows the game isn't really me, but between Alex and I we make a good facsimile of him.
I'm afraid that the pre-season tickets I am getting from work are already spoken for, but if you'd like to come over some night where there's a Jackets game (or, hell, even if there isn't! With Centre Ice we pretty much have hockey every night once the season starts), we'd be quite happy to watch with you, answer questions, and see if we can help out. :D
HDTV was the -best- thing to happen to Hockey in several years, because it makes it so much easier to watch the game and follow the action than regular analog. You'll see. :D
Plus, you haven't seen the new place yet! (And I keep meaning to ask you electrician questions. :>)
