Do not mourn the old vacuum, for it sucked badly and did a poor job of cleaning. Plus, it totally stank the place up when it's belt snapped.

Hail, however, the new vacuum, for though it did cost mad phat cashes, it makes the carpet look truly clean for the first time in a couple months. Plus, it's got nifty gizmos and stuff.

In other news, we had some awesome roasted corn, and got to see Klegman and Elissa tonight, since they'll be working tomorrow. Also gave Elissa a look at building a computer for her, and went through the parts and systems she'd want. I expect we'll be working on that in a little while. :D

I've also been putting my nose to the painting grindstone: Picked up more SuperClean (finally!) and stripped all the old Carnifexes and Raveners I got from Scott, which I'll prime tomorrow after they've dried completely, painted 10 more Glade Guard, and I'm down to the final 12, which are all based, partially assembled and somewhat painted. I've been assembly-lining them, and I'm pretty confident they'll all be done tomorrow, which just leaves me all the Nids I need to paint for the 'Ard Boyz tournament and the entire Ravenwing battleforce box before I've cleared the backlog on my painting shelf and can begin to maybe think about if I want to buy some more 40k or Fantasy stuff.

(And the scary thing is, this is progress!)

I also spent a little while in EVE today learning how to make a Frigate -really cook-, which will be useful soon: We're going to be doing some inter-corp "Frigate Wars" soon, and given that 2 out of my three PVP battles have ended with my ships being podded or destroyed, I'd really like to give a better accounting of myself in PVP from here on out.

Finally: Ground Lamb + Ground Beef = BLAMBurgers! Know them. Love them. Fear them.

Superclean, eh? How well does that work? I've used Easy Off, but it took a couple of rounds before it finally got the deep grooves out.

Also heard Castol brake fluid does amazing things.

I'm thinking I might brutalize the Emperor's Children army. Even if they're going to be a shade of what they once were. Well, assuming they had been finished.

It works like ****ing magic. It's actually a Castrol product, too. I usually get it from Autozone or Wal-mart.

Basically, you give the minis a dip in it for 24 hours, then apply warm water and a little bit of toothbrushing, and the paint just sloughs off, without harming the plastics or metals. Even Green Stuff is safe. (Resin, however, is another story: SC eats it like candy.) It's pretty much become my standard procedure any time I buy figs or vehicles 2ndhand.

It also tends to break up the glue, too, so the only thing to be careful of is the fig coming undone in your hands.

it did cost mad phat cashes

It so seriously did. Nearly $200! For a Vacuum! (I admit, for a moment I thought about just splurging $500 and buying one of the Dyson ones that will supposedly last forever, but I decided I really didn't feel like maxing out a card this weekend.)
