Well, now we know.
Sep. 17th, 2007 11:12 pmI forgot to mention that my Mom went to Vegas last week, while I was in Toronto.
Among other things, I read between the lines and she lost something like $500. I think she's going to be much less likely to ask Alex, Steve, or I to go down to Argosy and "help out?" now that she's seen that casino games, while sometimes very fun, rarely are a sure thing.
However, she did bring me back a Star Trek: The Experience tankard and a bottle of Romulan Ale.
Seeing as I was watching football after running a quite strenuous level 3, I decided it was worth trying the now chilled beverage.
I must admit that given it's -very- blue colour, despite being called an ale, I expected a sweeter taste, perhaps with a hint of berries or a wine cooler. Nope! It was actually very hoppy - not the worst beer I've ever had, but a bit jarring after what I expected. All things considered, a bit of a nutty aftertaste and a very smooth finish.
I'd say that if I go to Vegas and do ST:TE, I probably wouldn't mind having another, but I'm not really thinking I'd be searching it out.
Also, I now demand a sweet and fruity alcohol drink. Bright un-natural colours a plus.
