bzarcherThe Generic-NyQuil having failed to help me make it through the night again, I called off work, struggled for another hour's worth of sleep, and shortly after Alex left for work I dragged myself to CVS for some TheraFlu and name brand NyQuil. After a mug of the WORST TASTING BILE ON EARTH, I found myself getting sleepier then and woke up after the first uninterrupted 4ish hours of sleep I'd had since Wednesday. And you know, I actually finally find myself feeling better!
Which is good, because I don't want to miss any more work than I have if I can avoid it.
Onyx's vet followup was today as well, except I didn't have to race home to grab him and run to the vet, which was nice.
The news was almost entirely good. His hemoglobin count is up by slightly more than double what it was, and back up into "normal" range. He's put back on another half pound! The vet said that from his attitude and activity levels he seems like a much happier and healthier cat, and commended Alex and I on taking care of him.
The only bad news is that he's not sure the Frontline is working, because he found a couple of fleas. We've been given an anti-flea spray to do the house upholstery and carpets with tomorrow to see if that makes a difference.
One more followup in 4 weeks - if he's still got good bloodwork and his weight's still improved, we'll be in the clear!

Date: 2008-01-05 01:28 am (UTC)For colds that are making you miserable, or might make you miserable if you let them take root, I endorse evil tea. It kicks Theraflu's ass. Yes, it requires a certain amount of prep time (I suggest doing this whilst healthy, though if you have all the ingredients, it's not that much work), but it's totally worth it. It tastes awful, but it seems to be pretty effective.
