Ooo. Whoa!
Mar. 20th, 2008 06:10 pmSo, I really liked this PA strip. It resonated with me.
I decided to order a print on my next paycheck.
To be honest? Didn't expect too much. I've gotten prints from Aerie before, and while nice, they didn't exactly set the world aflame in how they arrived or the quality of the stock. They were, for about the same price as the PA print, about what I expected to get for $10, and I was (and am) happy.
The PA print arrived today, and instead of a rigid sleeve mailer, it arrived in a thick, multiple layers of cardboard encapsulation, delivered by a UPS driver who treated it like the codes to the bomb.
Once inside, I opened it to find a really nice plastic envelope inside containing the actual print on much heavier, glossier stock than I expected. There's a PA logo on the back of the print, along with the strip's title and date, the number of this print, and "Ordered for Matt Wagner."
Makes a fellow proud to be a consumer.
It's also bigger than I expected. I was thinking it wouldn't be much larger than a 9x14", at best. This is...
Yes, after checking this, the PA print -is- in fact larger than my diploma, it's matting, and frame combined.
The other thing I notice is how Gabe's colouring is just popping off the page. It looks -good- on the web. It looks -great- in person.
I think a nice frame is in order, and while I'm tempted to have it at work (despite the language), perhaps a nice place of honor somewhere in the house...
