Work wasn't too bad, all considered, and I got to take Alex, Sanford, and Klegman out to the work seats for the last time this year. The Jackets responded with one HELL of a game, from a nail-bitingly tense first period, to a 2nd period where they dominated everything but scoring (only 1 goal scored despite some excellent chances), and a third where Premier Hitchcock could be seen banging his shoe on the bench and screaming to Comrade Khabibulin "WE WILL BURY YOU!"

Jackets posted the 4-0 shutout victory. :D Amazingly, this (sorta) keeps the playoff hopes alive! The chance is VERY SLIM, but to my surprise in looking at the numbers, it does exist.

Howson and Hitchcock made no promises about this season, except for "Improvement." Given that I'm talking about a chance, even a slim one, with about a week to go in the regular season, as opposed to being mathematically eliminated in December or January, I think they delivered, and I think the playoffs are a realistic expectation next year.

Once I got home, it was me an [livejournal.com profile] alanthaniel hitting the streets of Paragon City, where I gave him a good run around Steel Canyon and Skyway with my scrapper, sidekicking him and hauling him into overwhelming odds and perilous battles. It was great, and I think Prof. Association has a great future in the City of Heroes.

Packing, prepping, and in general pumping up for the trip tomorrow, and flying Friday. Here we go again!

Hehe. All the prof really wants is a tenured position at Paragon University's department of Antiquities and Sorceries. Thusly, his hero name is a minor bit of wordplay based on this because nothing better came to mind.

Tenure is, indeed, the eternal quest. (For some, more eternal than others.)

That was *awesome*, mang, thanks again for the invite. Sorry I had to duck out at a minute till to meet Anne and Holman, but I figured the game was well in hand. It was nice to see them playing like a team for once.

HAve a good trip!

That was a fine game, and I watched as much of it as I could considering my two favorite basketball teams, OSU and UD were playing each other.

Clay came out of nowhere . . . that move to the goal he made that ended up as a goal for . . . can't remember, but wow that's an offensive minded defenseman. I like it.

It seems like were starting to learn how to score.

And you're right, Howson and Hitchcock delivered on their promises. The fact that we still have a chance is far more than anyone else has ever given us. When you add in youth and spending money the future looks very bright indeed.

Just what the frak is it about us and Nashville? Lord I want to mangle those people.
