I saw an ad for Pei Wei Asian Restaurant and thought "They can't be serious. It has to be a gag."

Apparently, they are serious, and there's one up in Dublin. I may have to try them at some point here.

Yeah, we've had those in Houston for years. They're not bad.

They're a fast food division of PF Chang's. They're convenient for fast vegetarian food when we're working late, but I don't go out of my way for them.

Fair enough.

It's up by Borders. I need to get the draft preview issue of THN there soon-ish anyhow. I'll probably just combine the trips. :)

I still can't believe the name, though...

I eat at one when I go visit my friend [livejournal.com profile] amurderofcrows in Salt Lake City. It's not bad. They do use a metric buttload of rice/noodles (depending on what you get), though.

Huh. Interesting. Well, that kinda fits with them being a baby-Changs.

I like them for lunch now and again. The Mongolian chicken is pretty good, especially if you get it with brown rice.

I really, really didn't like them, but my boyfriend thought they were alright. It's very much like fast food though to me, and expensive on top of it.

Perhaps from some of the comments, ours out here are a bit better?
One opened just down the road from us, and we think it's great. Good quality food, simple menu so lower chance of screwups, and not that expensive.

How are you imagining it being pronounced? I think it's 'pay-way'

"Pee-Wee".

...why would it be a gag? Because it looks like Asian for "pee wee"?

Yes. Which seemed like a pretty good way to name a gag restaurant.
