May. 31st, 2008 03:52 pmAfter cutting the grass this morning, Alex and I decided to go try the Pei Wei in Dublin and run a few errands.
(For Alex's part, he looked at the menu and said "What the f*** is a 'Spicy Korean'?" I was good and did -not- suggest a sexual position or act. I probably should have.)
Verdict: "Not too bad. It's spicy and I can taste some Korean flavors in the sauce, but the meat and veggies are all pretty generic. Koreans don't have carrots...well, OK, they do -now-, but not traditionally. I really want to make some kimchi fried rice now..."
I thought the blazin' noodles were pretty good. Kinda wished I had seen the Vietnamese chicken rolls. Oh, well. Maybe if we go back later?
Hunted around at a few hardware stores for the Vogelzang barrel stove parts, and came up dry, so I said hell with it and just ordered them online. Grabbed the stove kit, double adapter, and an extra damper collar.
Since it is an absolutely beautiful day, we took the slow route back from Dublin to Hilliard, cruising a bit with the windows down and grabbing some shaved ice. It was a perfect afternoon for it.
With luck, once Wyatt gets back from terrorizing Mid-Ohio, we'll go concreting this week, and that'll be most of the big money outlays done.
I'm accelerating the pace a little because of a phone call today from Steve - he will be a free man in 27 days, never again forced to work weekends or ridiculous on call shifts. We shall celebrate this proper. OH, yes. Most proper.
