This is our fire barrel - the base for everything else. The legs have been tapped and bolted in, the holes cut for the stove door and its' bolts, and we started to mark the holes for the damper collars when we said "Gee, it's getting dark and we don't have a grease pencil to mark these very important cuts with. We should stop and fix that."

Tomorrow is for...um, something or other, and we'll be back to work on Friday when I get paid and can buy the final parts. :D

Honestly, Dave gets that more than me today. :D I spent a lot of time holding things steady, marking holes, doing a bit of drilling, and staying back at safe distance with goggles on while he was using the sawzall.

OTOH, he -is- the professional, and I'm very much not, so it's all probably safer that way. :D
