I really shouldn't read the restaurant column in the Dispatch, but it has such interesting tidbids.

That new gastropub at Polaris sounds promising, and I really enjoy Northstar Cafe, so if they're looking at opening a new place, I'd really like to try it out eventually...

Northstar's been rumored to be putting something into the old Gibby's spot on third for a few months now.

The Pub scares us because of servers wearing kilts, we may have to investigate though.

I'm certainly curious now. :) Hopefully the beer selection's good - they mentioned over 50, but that doesn't mean anything...

No, fifty does not mean anything. Now, if they had IRN-BRU on tap I'd be a regular :)

I tried one of the chain in Cincinnati and it was a fine place to watch a rugby game with passable food, no better or worse than you'd find at a Claddagh, Fado, or Old Bag of Rusty. Though I'm also intrigued, if they've got some beers we don't see elsewhere, I'd like to check it out - though is any place going to top the one-two punch of Bodega's 50 drafts and Surly Girl's 15 within a block of one another?

Did you guys ever hit that brewpub in Reynoldsburg and is it even still open? I was thinking about it just the other day.

We never did get out there. I'm not sure if it's still there or not, honestly.

We'd be up for a trip to the pub at Polaris ...

Well, hm. What are you guys doing this weekend?

Aside from generally trying to do battle with deadlines, we're pretty open schedule-wise.

Well, let me talk to Alex.

Sanford? Are you still reading? Are you sitting comfortably? What say you?

An old friend is in town from Brooklyn and I'm going to make every effort to hang out with he and his girlfriend at some point this weekend, but so far no scheduling's set in stone so I'm 99% sure I'm game. Just gimme a heads-up on the when?

Sounds good - still not entirely sure on that myself. :)

Let me see how we all recover from Thursday!

Beer and food are always good combos, and frankly how are new places to make it if we don't give them a try?

Sounds like fun.

That's good enough for me.

Sounds good to me. So far, my list of good fish and chip places in Columbus is slim:

1) Claddagh
2) County Cork (though they have issues of their own)
3) That one place we went to during a con (I think?) I can't remember the name

I have not yet tried Marino's though I heard they're pretty good.

...one place we went to during a Con. Well, that's vague. :) Mac's, maybe? :)

What say you, other readers? How does a pub lunch around 1ish on Sunday sound to everyone?

Dave W was trying for that one Italian Restaurant, but it was full, so we hit the pub down the strip mall instead? That one.

Old Bag of Nails? That wasn't for a con! That was for his birthday! :)

Not true!

Some things actually stay inside the colander...
