GO THERE. Yes. :D
Doing 100 pages of reading tonight. Not too bad, but a bit heavy for the second day of class. (Sheesh!) OTOH, a lot of it is interesting. Creation of the post 1945 victory culture in the U.S.
Picked up my D&D character tonight to look over. Looks like I'm playing a monk who's the anti-Thug.
Thug, for those who didn't know him, was my D&D character last year, in the same game 'world', but we've advanced the timeline about 900 years, based on the actions of our last characters. He was a half-elf fighter.
A half elf Fighter with a 5 int.
A half elf fighter with a 5 int and 14 Wisdom.
When he opened his mouth, it was either stupid, profound, or monosyllabic. His real name was Zeldar, but he'd been called Thug so often it became easier to remember, so he used that. His saving grace was an elf Blue Mage in training named Zaidah (NPC), who over the course of the year, he ended up falling for, and the feeling was mutual. Last game of the campaign last year (following titanic battle), was their wedding. (Yes, I know, sickeningly sweet, but fun. And if I'd not known the DM was someone I'd not trust near my naked body in 1000 years, her offer to continue the 'wedding night', and in the outfit she was wearing {black velvet skirt, white tank top, and fishnets!}, I might have been tempted. However, I had -some- good sense.) It was joked that his wedding ring would be a ring of +6 INT.
Anyhow.
This guy is a human monk, from a fighting school the two of them formed as they grew older. He has a 15 Int, and 13 wisdom.
Definently not Thug.
32 pages to go. Laundry to get out of dryer in a bit. I push on.
Oh. Laundry. that's something.
I had to take someone's clothes out of the dryers, so I spent 15 minutes folding it all.
I normally don't fold my own laundry that well unless it's special stuff, but I took extra care with this. Wierd, huh?
Final bit of wierd: I'm sharing a closet with Ben, since I don't have a single anymore.
I'm vaugely uncomfortable with it, at times, especially when fumbling around in the dark and not recognizing anything. I've had a single for a year, afterall. But, when I thought about it, if it was a woman's clothing, I'd not feel uncomfortable at all.
Wierd, eh?
