Sep. 6th, 2002 05:59 pmIf you're one of my friends, and you don't read
jwhorfin's journal, it's a decent idea. He made a post...that...well..people should read.
Our country has made a lot of mistakes.
It could even be said we have a -very- long career of doing the right thing for the worst possible reasons.
But in the end, I don't think I'd truly be happy anywhere else. Sure, I'd love to live in Japan for awhile. Or visit my ancestors in Norway.
But this....this is home. For all it's problems. For all it's mistakes. And what happened was not just done to it, but to the entire world who believes that people should choose how to live, and which god(s) they worship, and who they chose to believe about what they feel is important.
And that's what is truly the worst of all of it.
And for better or worst, I'm glad to still have the ability to do what I feel is right. And I will never let that go easily.
To this we pledge our lives, hearts, and sacred honors.
Seyla.
