Which Spike are you?

I also decided that not this year, but possibly next year, I think I'm gonna go on a serious, medically aided, diet. Not as severe as the "no solid food" one my parents are on, most likely, but something to really help me stick with it and get some weight off. All in all, my parents do look a lot healthier, and the fact that the doctor mentioned that my dad not only probably passed me his diabetes in the future, but the fact that my dad was starting to lose functionality in his legs is quite enough of a warning sign.

For now, I'm gonna just keep trying to eat sensibly and excercise, and we'll see what comes of it.

That's a good game plan, Matt. I'm glad you have the courage and self-control to follow through with it.

I only wished more people thought like you. Not too long ago, I watched a certain person I care about very much, whose father is diabetic, pour OVER 20 packets of sugar into a cup of coffee.

And yeah, it hurt to watch and not say anything. But I'm not the one in charge of his life. He is.

Good grief. 20 packets? Did he bother to put any coffee in the cup? Or water, for that matter?

That aside, good luck to you, Matt. I'm not sure she'd appreciate me pimping out her mad skillz, but you might want to talk to [livejournal.com profile] neeri if you're thinking about doing a regular exercise regime. She's quite knowledgable about such things.
