On my way out of the office, I ran into Kathy (My nominal boss, where John is my day-to-day boss.)
K: "Hey, by the way, I'm waiting on word, but we may be able to turn the position Michael M. is leaving (a 1-year contractual position, which he's leaving to go to grad school), into a full time position in the department. If we do, I'll be giving you the word."
Full time would be -much- nicer than just a 1-year internship...especially if I got salaried.
And the snowstorm falls...it's a good day.
