Oh....should tell story about one thing I did last night. Through the sounds of the (somewhat lame) bands playing for the campus party on the quad, a thunderstorm broke.

A really big thunderstorm.

So I grabbed my bokken, took off my shirt, and went out there in jean shorts to practice kata for about ten minutes or so.

VERY fun.

The right thing is hard, sometimes. But sometimes it's not.

Went to the Wal-mart, raincheck cash in hand.

They had one Prime left.

I took it from the shelf.

Then a 10 year old kid walked up looking for them. Asked if that was the last one.

Looked at him. Looked at Prime. Looked at my hands.

"Yup. Here. He's yours."

Gave it to the kid, and turned away.

His mom popped out of the aisle to thank me.

I used the money to buy the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack and lunch, instead.

There's no better thing than giving a child a toy to imagine with.

It's funny how things work.

I ended up writing a short thing for another community, a bit ago. I wasn't meaning to. I just...I hadn't written anything even partially fictional other than MUSH poses in awhile. And something both fantasy and some other factors wouldn't get out of my mind. I saw parts of it when I closed my eyes. Felt it when I dreamed. So I finally sat down and wrote everything out before I got called to work this morning, pouring it into the pages.

It was exciting, and kind of scary. And I'm not sure what to think of it. It's been awhile since the need to write just seized me like that. Especially on something so intimate and personal.
