It's snowing to beat the band out there. I love it.

Unfortunately, with how the roads are between here and my grandparents, it probably means I will not be seeing them today.

But that's not what's bothering me.

I talked to my grandmother when she called to let me know the roads up there are really terrible, and...well...she sounded -old-.

My grandma and granda are each older than 70..heck, I think they're nearing their 80s though I've never asked, and yet....they've never sounded old before.

When I realize that no, they'll probably not be around too many more years...

...why are TBS, AMC, TCM, and nearly every other "movie" channel the College gets showing movies with Susan Sarandon in them? Is it her birthday, did she die, or is it just "Susan Sarandon Day"?

...and if they do have to show all her movies, why can't RHPS be on somewhere?

Went to lunch, and got into a nicely heated discussion about the LOTR books vs. the LOTR movies, and weakenesses and strengths of both with several people, including snowspinner and ninniane. I noticed that almost as soon as it had started, my sadness of the morning was gone.

Just saw a trailer for Gods and Generals. May just go see that. (The Civil War is one of my favorite periods of American history, mainly because of the personalities of the generals, even if I'm not totally obsessed with it in the way Barton is. :D

You know, between the Incredible Hulk trailer, Matrix Trailers, and Bulletproof Monk trailer....mmmm. It's gonna be a good year for movies. (To say nothing of The Return Of The King.)

NNnngh. Had to stay at the hall meeting for 50 minutes to be told I'd lost an election that I did my best not to win so that someone else would know how to handle the Listservs and website after I graduated.
