Mmm. The pain in my ear's gone. But...my hearing still hasn't returned. Not all the way, anyhow.

Strangely, this doesn't bother me so much as it might. Realized this when talking to [livejournal.com profile] jwhorfin last night. Really, when you consider all that I've been through, all the injuries I've managed to do to myself, all the serious illnesses? This...isn't so bad.

Consider the fact that I was born with scarred and damaged lungs.
Consider that I could have lost my leg a few years ago, yet my injury's barely noticable.
Consider that I came pretty close to near death Sophomore year, when I got so sick that I couldn't even walk.
Consider that I come from a family with a history of high blood pressure, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with a long history of cancer, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with extremely poor eyesight, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with a history of being diabetic, but I'm fine.
Consider all that my sister has gone through with her nervous system disorders. But I'm fine.

If losing a little hearing is the worst that happens to me, then I'm gonna be damn thankful.

While walking back from Digital, I talked with Chad a bit about the sad state of the (finally!) ice-free sidewalks, and one of the topics we hit on was the matter of I.S. Monday, and the weather for it, with me musing that another snowstorm would be funny, just because so many people said that was a one time thing that could never happen again. And he countered that it'd be far more amusing if it started raining Frogs, even if too many people would just call it a Magnolia sort of thing.

So, I have decided that I.S. Monday needs a Fortean event. Don't particularly care what, though spontaneous appearance of lobster'd be kinda fun, but we need one.

...

There was just this gigantic pop sound in my ear.

And then...I CAN HEAR.

Hurts like a bitch, and I can still feel pressure and not so nice in there, but I CAN HEAR.

It's a curiously strong relief.

With any luck, the doctor's appt. tomorrow will be rudimentary, now.

There's something strangely appealing about seeing an ad for reality/accident TV titled 'Gravity Wins Week'.

Mmmm. Yay for physics killing the stupid people.
