Mmm. The pain in my ear's gone. But...my hearing still hasn't returned. Not all the way, anyhow.

Strangely, this doesn't bother me so much as it might. Realized this when talking to jwhorfin last night. Really, when you consider all that I've been through, all the injuries I've managed to do to myself, all the serious illnesses? This...isn't so bad.

Consider the fact that I was born with scarred and damaged lungs.
Consider that I could have lost my leg a few years ago, yet my injury's barely noticable.
Consider that I came pretty close to near death Sophomore year, when I got so sick that I couldn't even walk.
Consider that I come from a family with a history of high blood pressure, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with a long history of cancer, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with extremely poor eyesight, but I'm fine.
Consider that I come from a family with a history of being diabetic, but I'm fine.
Consider all that my sister has gone through with her nervous system disorders. But I'm fine.

If losing a little hearing is the worst that happens to me, then I'm gonna be damn thankful.

If you've had a cold, or allergies, it's very simple for the sinuses to swell enough to pinch off air flow to the ear.

And with all that . . you're doing wonderful. :D

And indeed, that is what it seems to have been. And that's a relief. It was the first time that an ear infection had ever caused a loss of hearing for me.
