After getting news of the fire at Steve and Noelle's (they're okay, the fire was confined to their neighbor's garage, go see![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
demeterschild for details), I spent about 2 hours catching up with them to make sure that they were okay, and in general catching up on things.
Victory: Blue Jackets shut out the Red Wings. Yum.
More important victory: I impulse-bought some 3/$.99 packs of cookies at the gas station last night when I needed to clean up my car and refill the car for today's trip to Columbus.
Those cookies are still uneaten. In fact, I didn't have any sugar after lunchtime. I ate a decent dinner at the college's Thanksgiving special, and exercised as I was supposed to, and I didn't /need/ the sugar.
That feels good. I know I could potentially be bad tonight (c'mon, I'm going to see a movie with a bunch of friends!), but I'm breaking my dependency on wanting sugar during the day.
Am I going to lose all the weight I probably need to lose just by eating better and walking? I'd love to, but honestly probably not. But I will lose enough. And the more I lose, the easier other things will be, and if I decide to take more intense dieting steps, that will get easier, too.
The pain in my leg is getting better. I will bring those muscles back into shape, and even if it will always be a bit weaker than the other leg, I will make it stronger than it is.
I will win.
