*sigh*
It's like a BOFH story, except I can't make this kind of crazy up. )

Well, at least it's snowing.

DA-yum.

Daaaaa-yum.

DA-YUM!

(For the uninitiated, yes, that is a very drawled out and surprised version of 'Damn!')

Went to lunch with our copier service vendor who John and I have been working with, so that we could talk over what has been working, where we wanted to go, anything we wanted to look at changing, etx. Everything went extremely well (mainly because these guys have been delivering outstanding service for us), and I even got a job lead. (They're expanding into Columbus, and just got a contract with OSU medical.) But the big surprise came as we were leaving the restaurant.

"Oh!", the head service honcho exclaimed, "These are for you! Merry Christmas, and thank you both again for all the work you've done for us by taking over the level 1 responsibilities."

Christmas cards, we thought. Neat, and nice of them, we thought.

Open them up in the office, and we each find a Best Buy giftcard inside.

Okay, we think, probably $15-20 or something. Very nice of them.

We each checked the amount.

We each got a $100 gift card to Best Buy.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-yum!

...

I know I may not have lost much weight yet, but I /look/ thinner today. In my face, in my arms, and especially in my hands. I feel a bit thinner, too. The gut seems a little less protruding, y'know?

Neat!

Well, Best Buy here stopped carrying non-dock iPod accessories. That was a bit annoying. But, I managed to console myself. At first I was just going to do a double-whammy of KOTOR and Crimson Skies, but after noticing the X2 Widescreen DVD set on sale for $15, I decided to grab it, a new set of behind the neck headphones, and Crimson Skies.

I almost got KOTOR, but I decided that a game I can enjoy with others and online made a difference. I do still want KOTOR, but there'll be another time for it. And I had $9 left over on the card, so at some point, I'll get a nice discount on my next purchase. :D

I also took a look at stereo gear. The guys at Best Buy didn't think they could run a pre-out on my Kia's stereo, but had a few new ones with faceplate line ins that looked pretty good. Maybe on my tax refund?

There's two options I see. One is that I get a stereo that can do line in, or find a place that'll do hookups to my existing stereo for it, and I do direct connection plus an AC adaptor.

The other is that I get an AC adaptor and an iTrip to run things over FM radio. Cheaper, but an issue of quality and having to retune depending on where and when I drive.

It's a bit of a toss-up. My next step is to call around and see about places who might be able to do the mods on my existing stereo, and how much that'd cost.

Also spent some time on the phone with Lisa. It's looking very likely that she'll be going full time for Bally's childcare in the next couple weeks, which is very good news for her.

WOW!

Grip taped the weights and just finished doing some 'test' lifts.

The tape makes it feel almost like the weights are glued to my hand. Not in a soft or 'ew' sort of way, but in a 'these guys aren't coming off' way.

Then, when I put them down, it's just a little extra effort in taking my hands away, and my hands feel completely normal. No tape fragments, no 'sticky' sensation, no slip, nothing. It's great!

Hmm. Thinking.

Much fun as Soul Calibur II was, I don't really play it anymore. Nor do I play Evil Dead, or JSRF.

The three of those combined could probably equal KOTOR.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Hell, for that matter, it's been months since I cracked open Robotech: Battlecry. And I've got an original playstation sitting here that I don't play anymore.
