Guys, I want you to know that a very important anniversary should be celebrated this week. No, I'm not referring to the anniversary of that bleak September morning where we found out just how vulnerable we are.

No friends, I refer to the anniversary of the events that take place in the Coen brothers' masterpiece, The Big Lebowski. In fact, if my reckoning is correct, today is the day The Dude's rug is originally stolen. Tomorrow is the thirteenth anniversary of "Dude, tomorrow's already the tenth." Thirteen long years ago, El Duderino post-dated a check for forty-nine cents so he could get some half and half for his White Russians. Never mind the fact that nearly all that purchase was spilled in his restroom by Woo's friend.

So remember The Dude in some way this week, people. Order a White Russian between Guinesses on Irish Night. Watch The Big Lebowski, or even Tron. Roll a J, look for a cash machine, go bowling, whatever it takes. Remember The Dude, because in this time of strife and a changing world, I know it gives me a little thrill to think that The Dude is out there.

Taking it easy for us sinners.

So, as The Dude abides, I think we need to go bowling.

Where to start?

After being told I was free to go (and no longer a suspect!) I was able to pick Alison up and take her home. I was furious that she might have been in danger, and as it turns out, she was terrified that I'd been hurt, because they let people off the bus and kept them in their own 'quarantine' area, after mentioning that the apparent 'device' had been found. Was very glad to get her home safe.

I found out that I missed the delivery of my XPS by about 20 minutes. However, I was able to call and arrange for me to get it tomorrow from the UPS centre. Got chinese food for Alex and I, ate some, and slumped downstairs. A Tivo'd Iron Chef soothes me.

Yawn. Oy. Christ.
