Dec. 11th, 2002 12:14 pmFor the birthdate: Friday, February 20, 1981
You are now 7965 days old.
Your next Major Decimal Birthday is
your 8000th day on Wednesday, January 15, 2003
Reasonably neat.
Ironically enough, the 15th is my Mom's birthday.
Sleet, snow, ice, and the rest are still falling, and I get to go back out and run more calls in it in about 45 minutes or so. Whoopde.
*grumbles* If I had my druthers, I'd be curled up in bed with a warm blanket, a good book, and a lovely
skarlette to read to or be read to by, with some tea or cocoa on the nightstand for us. (It's not a coffee day. Well, it was to wake me up this morning, but not at this point. It's much more a 'relax and be warm' day than a 'be awake' day.
I really want my druthers.
I believe we do have D&D tonight, so I'll get off work at 5 and then go home to chip away a bit more of the final. Maybe (if -really- lucky) get it wrapped up and sent off before game. (I *HEART* profs who encourage electronic submissions on finals and major papers.)
Failing that, game tonight, come home, try to tinker a bit more, and plan to finish it tomorrow morning. I set all day tomorrow aside for take-home work and studying for the final tomorrow evening (7pm Final==Yaaaargh). Probably also do some packing tomorrow. Need to figure out what I actually want to take home.
Right now the list is:
DVD player and DVDs.
Fansub VHS tapes for I.S.
Computer (Monitor and everything) + 25' and 14' CAT-5 runs so my sister and I can plug into the router that will (theoretically) be hooked to the cable modem. Dad said not to bring my switch, so I'm leaving that at school.
(This reminds me.
ixx,
bredmold? If I come out for more than a day to see TTT and possibly take
ijikeru back to Ohio, and have my computer with me because I've not unpacked the car yet, would you have room on your network for me to get it out of the car and use it there? I might be able to spend some time writing at your place while everyone's at work and such, which would be good, and I could go online and do various thingies too. But if I turn out to arrive Wed./leave Thurs., I won't worry about it because it'd not be worth the hassle.)
PSX and DC Games I intend to sell. (Yes, I am most likely leaving the PSX at school.)
Game Boy Advance. (Probably will mostly use this on car rides/plane, but if I get some GBA games for christmas I damn well want to play them!)
Clothing (A fair amount, and probably a good bit of dress clothing due to holidays+Chicago. I'm gonna take casual stuff on that trip too, but I want to take at least 2 or 3 nicer ones. A gentleman should make a good impression.)
I.S. books.
Camera.
Dirty clothes (I haven't done laundry since last Monday. Bad Matt. Bad.)
Coat(s). (I think I'm gonna take my mediumweight warm green wool coat for the plane, as it'll be less bulky than the leather jacket, which I can put in my suitcase for a really warm coat.)
Backpack to serve as carry-on.
I was considering taking home some pleasure reading, but my gut call is I'll have enough of that at home, when I'm not doing other things. I was also considering taking the Dreamcast and the A/V switcher box, but I don't want to take things that might distract me too much from trying to get work done, or from trying to take too much stuff home.
My biggest advantage with taking my PC home is that my suitcase serves as a damn good carrying case for the PC, and can still hold -some- clothes. I think I'll throw boxers and socks in with the PC, and keep shirts/pants on hangers.
I don't think this all seems too overboard...should be able to get my big suitcase, monitor, backpack, hamper, and DVD player's box into the trunk without problem, and clothes probably in the backseat. Also, depending on plans, if I stop at grandparents between going to
demeterschild's graduation and going to Pittsburgh, that would give me time to do laundry and then collapse the hamper after putting a few more clothes into the suitcase.
I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting, though. Any suggestions as to what?

Date: 2002-12-11 11:30 am (UTC)That game has one of the few types of zombies I can deal with. Simply because they're so surreal and manequin-like, and solid in-story reason to exist. Something I like.
BLARGH! Buuuut . . . you remembering presents? Presents for grandparents, presents for parents? Present for garbageman? ;)
