Dec. 23rd, 2002 01:27 pmMMmm. Watched ep. 5 of GITS: SAC today, thanks to
tarzxf. Have I mentioned lately how much I love the TV series, and how superior it is to the last movie? (I'll hold -some- hope for the next movie, but not much. Mamoru Oshii is still involved.)
Please don't get me wrong. I loved Oshii's work on the Patlabor movies. But with GITS.....eugh. He lost most of the really good subcurrents and plots, and turned everything into this sexless ballet of automatons and CGI-graphics. One of the most fascinating things with the manga to me is how quirky and human everyone still is, despite the questions of cyborging. Particularly Mokoto. (Mokoto's girlfriends/lesbian loverpals seem to be back in the TV series, and I'm glad. Not for the obvious reasons, but because it actually gives more depth to her character, I think, to see her interacting outside of section 9.)
My hat's off to Production I.G., really.
Hrm. What else. Did dishes and vacumned the house! It's wierd to be excited about doing chores, but I actually don't mind. It's work that needs to get done, and it's kinda relaxing. Particularly hand-washing all the dishes. (Okay, most of the dishes. I left the two big cutting boards for later.)
