So, I got Jetfire out of the box.
God. Damn.
God. Damn.
Probably my favorite toy from Armada, at this point, and I haven't even gone for Space Pants Mode.
Edit: And so he put Jetfire into Space Pants mode, and It. Was. Good. Huge, too. I think he's taller than Battlepants. Certainly seems it if he's not. So I guess I have to get an Overload when he comes out, now...
Edit Part Deux: When in Shuttle mode, the Star Sabre can also be attached to his dorsal powerlinx port like an SR-71 style remora missile and deploy the extra wings at the same time. Kick my ass.

Date: 2003-02-20 08:00 pm (UTC)Okay, and so I also put him in Space Pants, put him in front of Megatron, and pulled an 'On your knees, bitch' type diorama scene. But only one! Really.
It's the M-21/D-21, not the SR-71
Date: 2003-02-20 10:46 pm (UTC)I hope you're referring to the D-21 (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/annex/an11.htm) drone, which was designed to launch "remora style" from the M-21 (http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/m-21.htm), not the SR-71 (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/modern_flight/mf35.htm)...
Here's a picture (http://www.russellw.com/museums/boeing_mof/photo_enlargement.asp?PicID=8) of a D-21 drone mounted on an M-21 Blackbird.
"But Bill, the SR-71/YF-12/M-21 are all essentially the same plane..."
There are some non-subtle differences between the airframes that gave rise to different designations...

Date: 2003-02-21 04:16 pm (UTC)I'll leave pedantic detail-mongering about anime and toy robots to people better equipped than I. (i.e.: you, for one.)
Nitpicking about airplanes? I consider it fun. :)
