bzarcherWell, if the other half of this budgest request goes through, working at Woo this summer is going to be great!
Already approved:
DSL3 line with 39% of the possible bandwidth/month to replace 2 T1 lines.
Netware 6 upgrade from Netware 5 for the college's server architecture. (Yes, we run Novell. I was sickened too, but you get used to it.)
3 linux boxes to consolidate a bunch of the WinNT/Appleshare servers we have sitting around doing one or two jobs per box.
Desk lamps (aka iMacs) running OS X to replace Taylor 205's 16 250MHZ G3 All-in-ones.
Hopeful, and looking reasonably likely:
85 more desklamps for Taylor 209 and all the dorm labs.
(POSSIBLE: 12 high end all-in-one PCs (probably Gateway profiles) to put in dorm labs, 1 per.)
More bandwidth purchases
Another "User Services" permanent staff position, perferably a Wintel/UNIX guy. (Current one is in the running for the SysAdmin job that was posted, and has a fair shot at getting it.)
iBooks to increase loaner machine pool
Additional FileMaker 5.5 Pro licences.
Could be fun... :D
