So far a fairly medium day at work. Matt goes places. Matt lays his hands upon the machines, and yea, they work, while the masses are IN AWE.

One fun thing, I must admit, was getting to test out the new videoconferencing rigs. Netmeeting can be fun, when you abuse it and have a bunch of big screen TVs and Polycomm VCL units at your disposal.

Picked up pizzas for the office that Shatz ordered for lunch, and savored the deliciousness of pepperoni pizza and Mountain Dew: Livewire, while discussing the stupidity of humans who work at GameStop with [livejournal.com profile] ardaniel.

Livewire is /great/. I think I've endorsed it before, but I do so again. Go get some.

Past that, I really love the GITS: SAC soundtrack. I know some of the pieces don't sound like stuff we've heard on the show so far, but a lot of it does, and quite frankly, I like some of this stuff just as music, so who cares? Track 14 (Beauty within us) is particularly good, to my mind.

Looks like the afternoon holds printer installs. Yaay.

LiveWire, feh. You are aware it's just orange soda with caffiene? I mean, caffiene has it's own flavor, but that doesn't change it enough to make it still orange soda.

Well, yes. :D But I like orange soda, too, so.

Besides, I think it actually tastes more like caffinated kool-aid, and it doesn't have the tang that makes Code Red taste like battery acid, and that I got turned off of Mt. Dew from.

I always think I should like orange soda, cause it's a great idea, but I hate it. About every six months I try it, and am nearly always unimpressed. And sometimes I like Code Red, and sometimes I hate it, but it's clearly a mutation of Mountain Dew, which LiveWire isn't. It's like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. A fine game in its own right, but not a Sonic game.

Yeah, I can understand that. And I'll even admit that Sunkist is a smoother and better Orange Soda than most, so most will turn people off easily. But if Livewire's not a mutation, what is it? Related evolutionary branch? (IE: Megaman vs. Megaman Battle Network?)

I dunno. I don't totally agree with the Sonic Metaphor because MD and MD:LW share more common factors than the Mean Bean Machine did, to my mind.

I only had one bottle, so I don't recall the ingredients perfectly, but didn't think LiveWire had "orange juice concentrate" as a primary ingredient, which standard and Code Red do. It seems they don't share the same code base.

But I'll buy LiveWire being Battle Network, and maybe Code Red is the X series (the more you drink, the worse it gets).

...actually, according to the bottle in my fridge, it does. 3rd ingredient down the list.

However, I dig your analogy, and am quite cool with it. (Though I hope X7 might somehow be the can at the bottom that manages to not suck.)
