Um.

So.

After several cancelations today and yesterday, I gotta wonder if anyone's coming to the graduation party I sent all those inviations out about.

It's here by the way.

As it is...it looks like it'll be 8 or 9 hours with my family, a lot of food, and a tent.

I know it's not anyone's fault. I even agree with a couple of the reasons that people can't make it. (An interview for a new, much higher paying job is a good reason.)

But I feel quite alone.

I'm starting to consider leaving Wooster after this year. I love the job. I love the people here...

but I'm so damn tired of being so isolated from the people I care about. Nobody comes here. I can't entirely blame them. But I'm almost always shoehorned into people's schedules, and it takes me days of planning to get a chance to go out and see them.

So. Chicago?

Columbus?

Cleveland?

Anywhere?

If you move closer to I-80, we can claim to live next to the same road! (but 2500 miles away)

Ditto for US-50.

Don't be sad Matt!! Amanda and I are coming, and bringing wonderous gifts! We might be a tich late considering how directionless each of us are, but we're on our way:-D I think it's just because the graduation party is several weeks after graduation that people are having trouble fitting it into their schedules. Anyway, bye! And be of good cheer!

I'm partial to Indianapolis, myself. And since I'm a transplant here, I'm allowed to say that. :)

I'm going to have to tell you this awful joke that popped up in my other confused, somewhat depressed just-graduated friend's LJ after her similar post. Because it's so horrid that it completely broke me.

A pirate walks into a bar, and the bartender notices that he's got a steering wheel down his pants. The bartender says "Hey there, what's with the steering wheel in your pants?"

The pirate says, "Aaaarrrr, matey, it's drivin' me nuts!"

*hugs*
