I did something really cool.
I took that processor and motherboard I mentioned a few days back. (Yeah, it has memory on it, too.)
I put it into this case I got in the mail today. (Well, okay, so it went to the College's service centre due to sheer size, then I picked it up.) Added the hard disk to the case. Added the floppy drive. Added a CD-ROM I took from work because it was on the 'we have too fucking many' spares shelf. (Technically it's an Apple 36x. Really it's a Matsushita.) Cables. Plugs. Fans. Neon lamp that came with the case. Fans. Fans. Fans. Temporarily put my own video card into it until the 'real' video card arrives.

I plugged my monitor into it. I put my keyboard and mouse on it. I plugged the power cable in....and it booted. It POSTed. The BIOS found everything correctly. And then I put an OS onto it.

And it /worked./
litagemini, it's ALIVE. :>

I've done partial builds, case swaps, upgrades, and mods, but this was my first PC I built from the parts up. And it worked perfectly. I feel rather proud.
