Short version: My old hometown utterly killed a bunch of networks, including ours.
Long version: The College (and many other institutions, including Oberlin and Antioch), gets its' ISP work done by OARnet, based in Westerville, with our T3 provided by Sprint and the intervening fibre by Qwest. Today, OARnet shat itself spectacularly, and managed to disable quite a few things, including Qwest's link to our Sprint T3.
If this confuses you, think how we feel!
Even better, 3/4 of our staff was tied up in mandatory meetings, leaving me, a secretary, and one of the server guys to handle EVERYTHING for the majority of today.
Yes, it's a marvel I'm not killing people.
Past that, I think it's a night to go to get some food soon as I'm off work, and take a nap until Lisa gets home.
