bzarcherWhat a day/night.
Came home, got the tickets, and picked Alex up from OSU medical where he was doing post-op stuff for his outpaitent back surgery. He's fine, and just is on light duty for a bit, with a cane for the next week or two. We had a few difficulties with an Orderly who wouldn't let me actually wheel Alex to the car before forcing him to switch to the cane rather than the Wheelchair, and also forcing Alex to cross 12th Avenue on foot rather than using the paitent walkway, but I also had a few words with Steve on this, and since Steve is very good friends with the Chair of Internal medicine and going in for a job interview soon...heh.
The hockey game was wonderful, even if Columbus totally blew the 2nd period and lost the game in the last 4 minutes on a shameful defensive failure. We had seats 11 rows back from home ice, and it was worth it just for all of us to relax and hang out. Steve, Alex, and I haven't done /anything/ together for nearly 3 years until tonight!
In other good news, getting thinner. I actually borrowed one of Alex's 2XL jerseys today, and it fit well enough that I was getting compliments on it. This is an amazing thing to me. I haven't worn 2Xs regularly for nearly 5 years. It'd be really awesome if I can keep this up, particularly if I can get down to XL. If I make it to XL, and stay there, that's a goal I'd be very satisfied with in my attempts to diet and lose weight. But even if I make it to a midrange 2X or 2XT, that's an incredible sign of improvement.
Talking damage control with a few people, spending a little time with Lisa before bed, and going out shopping with my Mom tomorrow. Should be an interesting time.
